CoverGirl Taps Celeb Trainer Massy Arias as New Ambassador

Beauty brand CoverGirl has just tapped the Dominican fitness influencer, Massy Arias, as their newest ambassador. Arias, who has 2.3 million followers on Instagram, has raised to internet fame for her documenting her intense workouts on social media. Most notably, it was her fitness videos and thoughtful captions pre and post giving birth to her daughter Indira Sarai Williams in February of this year, that caught her audience’s attention and growing admiration.

And the fitness guru loves beauty just as much as she loves fitness. In a press release for the brand, Arias said: “There’s a stigma around wearing makeup at the gym, but there are times I proudly rock a full face, especially when I’m filming and want that extra dose of confidence before putting myself out there in front of millions of people.”

That’s the exact ideology that CoverGirl wants to spread.

“People have many varied interests that aren’t mutually exclusive. This is an important element of diversity, and we should celebrate and encourage the freedom of expression that comes along with it. For us, makeup is a very powerful form of self-expression, and we couldn’t be more excited for Massy to bring her incredible energy and love for beauty to ,” said Senior Vice President of COVERGIRL, Ukonwa Ojo, in a press release for the brand.

Arias is one of several latinas, such as Sofia Vergara and Becky G, to join the diverse roster of women who represent the mega beauty brand.

Arias, who is also a spokesperson for Target’s activewear line C9, is equally as excited about this partnership.

“I remember watching America’s next top model growing up as a young girl. Dreaming of a chance to experience for just one minute what it’d be like to take pictures with pretty makeup and pretend I was a model… A Covergirl,” wrote Arias in an emotional post on her Instagram page. “It’s extremely humbling now to be in a position where I can possibly inspire young girls and women around the world.”
