Nicole Curtis Is Back! Get Your First Look at Season 8 of Rehab Addict After a Year-Long Hiatus
Nicole Curtis is back in rehab!
The hit show is gearing up for season 8, premiering October 4, and fans can expect the same attention to old-school details and no nonsense attitude they know and love from the HGTV and DIY Network series.
Mom-of-two Curtis, who spent the off season advocating for breastfeeding mothers and continuing to fight for custody of her 2-year-old son Harper, has been teasing the upcoming episodes, sharing photos of her and the crew working (and sometimes singing, see below) on their Detroit-based projects.

In an exclusive clip (top), Curtis is busy staining a stair rail at one of the two homes that are featured in the premiere, but she quickly runs into a problem.
“This looks dumb, I didn’t catch it until I stained that piece,” she says, realizing that the new look on the rail doesn’t match the nearby windowsill and entryway. “These need to be oak.”
Spoiler alert: they ripped out their updates and replaced it with the wood, transforming the area into a charming feature. “What can I say? We do great work,” she captioned a photo of the finished product on Instagram.
Although the season is just starting, Curtis has had an action-packed, and at times overwhelming, year. She released her memoir, Better Than New, in October 2016 and has been embroiled in public court battles with her ex Shane Maguire and the city of Minneapolis. However, the single mom is dedicated to moving forward with her show and putting her family life first.
Each struggle has served as a lesson that’s helped her grow and emboldened her continue to succeed. “I’m comfortable in my own skin and that’s just the way it is,” she told PEOPLE last October. “It took me a long time to find this person.” She adds, “If there’s one goal that’s out there for me it’s that time will heal some wounds here,”
Rehab Addict returns Wednesday, October 4 at 9 p.m. EST on DIY Network.
