Mila Kunis And Ashton Kutcher Aren’t Giving Their Kids Christmas Presents This Year
It’s three weeks until Halloween, which means we’re already…what, two, three weeks into talking about Christmas. Mila Kunis has Christmas on the brain, because she’s promoting A Bad Moms Christmas. She’s also a mom to two little kids. So what how are Mila and Ashton Kutcher celebrating Christmas with their kids this year? Well, not with presents, that’s for sure.
Mila talked to Entertainment Tonight about the new holiday tradition she and Ashton have for 3-year-old Wyatt and almost-1-year-old Dimitri to ensure they don’t turn into spoiled little monsters on Christmas morning. No presents!
“So far, our tradition is no presents for the kids. We’re instituting it this year because when the kids are [younger than] one, it doesn’t really matter. Last year when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was two and it was too much. We didn’t give her anything – it was the grandparents. The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff.
We’ve told our parents, ‘We’re begging you – if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation, to the Children’s Hospital, or a pet [or] whatever you want.’ That’s our new tradition.”
Okay, on the surface, it sounds like Mila and Ashton might share DNA with The Grinch with that no presents rule. But upon closer inspection, Wyatt and Dimitri are far from hard done by. Case in point, Mila and Ashton gave the grandparents gift options that included a pet. A pet is a spoiled kid gift! Check out those Christmas morning videos of kids screaming their tonsils out as they open a giant paper-wrapped box to find a dopey little yellow lab puppy inside; a good number of them are filmed in nice houses. Honestly, if I knew there was a possibility that a real live teddy bear hamster could be slipped into my stocking, 8-year-old me definitely wouldn’t have asked for a lame Polly Pocket.
