Joseph Duggar & Kendra Caldwell Share Weird "Perfect Date" Fantasy
It's only been a few weeks since Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell got married in front of a crowd that looked considerably larger than the turnout for any NFL game in LA this season.
But the couple is already doing their Duggar duty by filming promotional materials for the family cash cow, Counting On.
Joseph and Kendra made their debut as a couple on a YouTube just a few days after they tied the knot.
Earlier this week, they got in front ot the camera once again, this time to answer a question about their ideal date.
Joseph sort of dodged the question by saying that his ideal date would involve spending time with his wife, which is a bit like saying your favorite meal consists of food.
“My favorite date idea is to spend time with this girl,” Joe rather lamely offered.
Though she's new to this whole "pretending to be interesting" thing, Kendra gamely stepped in on her husband's behalf with a somewhat more helpful answer.
“I’ve always liked the idea of sitting by the campfire, you know, with our families or looking at the stars,” Kendra said.
“We do like looking at the stars,” Joe added, which leads us to believe "looking at the stars" the couple's euphemism for having sex.
We kid, obviously, but there is a weird aspect to Joseph and Kendra's answer that some fans immediately picked up on:
Their ideal date involves hanging out with their entire families?
For one thing, the logistics of getting all the Duggars around a campfire would be a nightmare.
Short of recreating the Chicago fire, we're pretty sure it's impossible to create a large inferno to accomodate that many people.
On top of that, it's a little weird that a newly married couple wants 47 people around them on their ideal date night.
Early in their relationship, Joseph and Kendra's dates were chaperoned by his little brothers, and it was every bit as weird as it sounds.
But in those days, the couple was abiding by the draconian Duggar courtship rules, which dictate that unmarried couples can never be alone together.
Now, Joe and Kendra finally have some say in the matter, and they still want his family hanging around. Yeesh.
Next they're gonna tell us that for their perfect weekend, they like to close the blinds, light some candles and watch Counting On online.
