Harvey Weinstein Claims Ashley Judd Is Lying
You gotta be a new kind of dickhead to answer a claim of sexual harassment by insinuating that your accuser is most likely lying because she’s had a tough life including getting sexually abused. Harvey Weinstein IS that new kind of dickhead.
Harvey Weinstein talked to the New York Post about all of the allegations that came out in The New York Times yesterday and he refuted Ashley Judd’s claim that he sexually harassed her during a hotel room meeting in 1997. Oddly, this was in concert with the lengthy and rambling apology he issued to the New York Times for “bad behavior.” So you did harass women just not Ashley? It’s like the flipside of the boy who cried wolf. It’s the boy who cried “wanna watch me shower?”
Ashley is one of many women who have accused Harvey of sexual harassment to The New York Times. But it’s ok, because Harvey has excuses and is practically dripping with sympathy for poor, confused Ashley. Harvey even offered to call Ashley and straighten things out after he gets his shit together in a year. He said this to the Post:
“I know Ashley Judd is going through a tough time right now, I read her book [her memoir ‘All That Is Bitter and Sweet’], in which she talks about being the victim of sexual abuse and depression as a child. Her life story was brutal, and I have to respect her. In a year from now, I am going to reach out to her.”
I think I speak for Ashley when I make like Traci Lords in Cry-Baby and say, “beat it, creep.“
Also in his interview with the Post, Harvey said that his wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman (seen above with him), is sticking by him. Obviously, Georgie Girl’s either legally blind and likes film exec money or she just likes film exec money.
“She stands 100 percent behind me. Georgina and I have talked about this at length. We went out with [attorney] Lisa Bloom last night when we knew the article was coming out. Georgina will be with Lisa and others kicking my ass to be a better human being and to apologize to people for my bad behavior, to say I’m sorry, and to absolutely mean it.”
Harvey also elaborated further on his past shitty behavior.
“My temper makes people feel intimidated, but I don’t even know when I’m doing it. In the past I used to compliment people, and some took it as me being sexual, I won’t do that again. I admit to a whole way of behavior that is not good. I can’t talk specifics, but I put myself in positions that were stupid, I want to respect women and do things better,” the Oscar-winning film producer added.
Oh, and remember when Harvey quoted Jay-Z in his original apology? Here’s what we he wrote:
“Jay Z wrote in 4:44 ‘I’m not the man I thought I was and I better be that man for my children.’ The same is true for me. I want a second chance in the community but I know I’ve got work to do to earn it.”
Dad’s really down with the new music. Unfortunately for Hip Harvey, he either misquoted that lyric or totally made it up. The New York Daily News says that lyric didn’t come from Jay-Z’s solid gold pen.
There are no lyrics on JAY-Z’s song “4:44” or on any of the other songs on his album of the same name that feature those words.
There’s also nothing on the liner notes section of the hardcopy CD of the album, according to Spin magazine. A Google search of those words did not yield any relevant results, either.
The New York Times also claimed that Harvey has settled with 8 accusers, including Rose McGowan. Rose didn’t want to talk to the Times, but she alluded to the situation on Twitter yesterday.
Women fight on. And to the men out there, stand up. We need you as allies. #bebrave

I hope somewhere today Ashley and Rose are clinking champagne glasses together like it was the end of 9 to 5.
